Organic production is encouraged and 100 organic markets will be set up

The state of Assam, in north-east India, wants to encourage organic agricultural production. Among the announced measures, the establishment of 100 markets dedicated to the sale of organic products.

 

 

 

The Assam State Ministry of Agriculture has announced various measures among which the establishment of 100 markets dedicated to the sale of organic products.

 

 

 

Other measures concern land allocation and seed production. This includes the creation of an infrastructure for seed production so that the needs of farmers are met at the local level.

 

 

 

Another project envisaged is a modernization program for the agricultural sector and related sectors.
