Plum crop looks abundant and early

The producers of Lorraine mirabelle plums are optimistic as this season promises a good early harvest.
 
The expected production is 6,000 tons of plums this year following only 2,500 tons last year following heavy rains that ruined a large part of the production.
 
This spring with its exceptional climatic conditions has lead to early flowering. The harvest could begin in late July, at least fifteen days earlier than the usual date.
