Italy
Thursday 20 March 2008
Macfrut 2008, the most important international trade fair in Italy on the fruit and vegetable sector - taking place next 17-19 of April in Cesena (Italy) - celebrates its 25th birthday this year focusing for the first time on the fresh-cut industry.
A pavilion devoted to “Fresh-cut, ready-to-eat vegetables”, developed together with the fresh-cut Department of AIIPA (Italian Association of Food Products Industries), is this year edition’s major innovation. AIIPA has currently a membership of some 300 Italian producing companies, operating in the food industry: some of them are the leading firms for the fresh-cut, ready-to-eat products.
Also showing at Macfrut 2008 will be the main innovations about this ever-developing industry, buoyant in Italy and across Europe as well, both in terms of demand and growing of companies involved. This year’s fair will be about innovative products, new-technology, logistics: all introduced in a meeting organized by AIIPA, which will focus on the actual state of the art, potentials and future developments of the sector.
Last but not least, another important point of Macfrut 2008 will be the highlight on the crucial link with hypermarkets and supermarkets: in fact, they could promote this industry’s growth even more, through effective investments especially in hi-tech solutions.
