The Diamantino tomato : winning variety in Turkey.

Smyrna Sera, a company that is located in the Aegean region , 200 km southeast of Izmir , mainly grow tomatoes and has chosen since 2011 to cultivate the Diamantino variety. She successed during the 2014-2015 winter season to obtain the highest yield of Turkey.

The owner of the company, Mr. Osman Göksan , who is very proud of this record, declares being very pleased with the results and that's why he decided to plant almost all the available area (19 hectares out of 20) with Diamantino . He had tried other varieties but the dark red color , organoleptic qualities and shelf life of Diamantino , combined with its resistance to fungal diseases and adapting in wet make a winning variety.
