WTO Disapproves EU Banana Import System

On April 7, 2008 the World Trade Organization issued a report regarding the EU banana import system implemented in 2006, which requires a 176-Euro tax for each ton of non-ACP bananas.
This report, which was the result of a claim made by Ecuador on November 2006, led to the conclusion that the EU system was inconsistent with world trade rules.
