Agroban has estimated that production of Ecuadorian bananas fell by 25%.
Low banana production in Ecuador has raised prices.
Agroban, organization Ecuadorian for bananas has found that banana production has reduced by 25% due to bad weather conditions and the effects of Black Sigatoka fungus making fruit grow slowly.
Exports follow
this trend and have declined by about 20 million cases. This decline in production has led to an increase in prices on the domestic market as for the export price. The price reached U.S. $9, compared to the official price of U.S. $5.50.
