Britons encouraged to eat more fruits and vegetables
MD
Retailers and food manufacturers pledge to offer more fruits and vegetables.
The plan launched by the Health Minister aims to increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables in the fight against obesity. Supermarkets and food manufacturers are committed to give more room for fruits and vegetables on their shelves.
The goal is to encourage the consumption of fruits and vegetables and allow everyone 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day:
- ALDI will increase fresh produce aisle space and
- CO-OPERATIVE FOOD will distribute coupons for fresh and frozen products to customers who do not buy fruits and vegetables in order to change their purchasing behavior,
- ICELAND will offer promotions on fruit and vegetables,
- LIDL will rename its range of fruits and vegetables to make it more appealing to children,
- METRO will launch a new campaign to promote fresh produce.
