Peru

The 2012-2013 season started well. Peruvian exports of mangoes are estimated at 105,000 tons.
Peruvian mango producers are more optimistic this season.
After the decline in volumes last year, production seems on track for the 2012-2013 season. EMPA (Peruvian Mango Growers and Exporters Association) estimates that exports will reach 105,000 tons.
Destination markets are Europe (60%) North America (35%) and new markets (China, Japan, New Zealand, Chile). China, producer of mangoes in the opposite season, could be a huge market, but the problem of transport (32 days minimum) can not be overcome.
