Thailand to open produce distribution site in Germany

Leading logistics groups in Thailand and Germany have signed an agreement to open a new facility at Munich airport to distribute Thai fresh produce across Europe.
Thai Airways International and Thai Airfreight Forwarders Association agreed the deal for a Thai perishables distribution centre with Munich Airport and logistics firm Cargogate Flughafen Munchen on Monday, reports the Bangkok Post.
Vorapravat Suebsaeng, Thai Airways' manager director for cargo and mail commercial presided over the Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony at the group's operations centre building at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thailand.
In a statement, Thai Airways said it hoped the new facility would serve as a gateway to south eastern Europe for Thai fruit, vegetables and flowers.
