Citrus exports on the rise, but bananas fall in Belize

Despite declines in certain sectors, growth in others indicates a positive start to the year for the Belizean economy.
In January 2025, Belize's domestic exports reached $17.1 million, an increase of 2.1% compared to the $16.8 million recorded in the same month of 2024, reports local media.
The citrus sector experienced remarkable growth, doubling its revenues from $0.4 million to $1.1 million, driven by the improvement in orange concentrate prices.
On the other hand, banana exports decreased by $0.5 million, falling from $6.4 million to $5.9 million.
