The 2017 edition of CHINA FRUIT & VEGETABLE FAIR, which has just been held in Beijing from November 3rd to 5th, has highlighted, as a partner country, the Philippines, the world's second largest banana producer and holder of 95 % of the Asian market.
China and the Philippines have long-standing trade relations and continue to multiply and strengthen trade and cooperation. The Philippines is the world's second largest producer of bananas and holds 95% of the Asian market. In 2015, the Philippines exported 448 million tonnes of bananas to China worth 158 million USD.
In addition to bananas, the Philippines exports to China many other products such as pineapples, mangos, papayas, avocados, frozen fruits, etc. Since 2016, industry experts estimate that the Philippines has increased its fruit exports to China by 50%. This positive development should continue.
