Moroccan citrus production is 25% lower compared to the previous year.
The Ministry of Agriculture expects a harvest of about 1.5 million tons for all citrus varieties combined, a decrease of 25% compared to 1.86 million tons produced in 2011-2012.
Forecasts from the Ministry announced production of oranges
at 763,000 tons, a drop of 27% and a small fruit production of 665 000 tons - a decline of 24%.
Other citrus fruits (lemon and grapefruit) are expected to have increased volumes of 38%, but represent less than 5% of the total production.
