The cultivation of Capsicum and Cauliflower in Italy in 2007

The cultivation of capsicum in Italy has total extension approximately 13.600 hectares. Out of the total acreage 11.000 hectares is cultivated in full field and approximately 2.600 hectares as protected cultivation in greenhouse.
Italian farmers cultivate capsicum mainly in the following regions: Puglia - 2.000 ,Sicily - 1.850 and Campania -1.200 hectares and cauliflower is cultivated in 23.000 hectares and the biggest acreage of this vegetable is concentrated also in Puglia - 8.500 and Sicily - 2.400 hectares.
