New record for Antwerp's harbour

Record in sight for the port of Antwerp which is able to exceed 200 million tons of cargo this year.

The port of Antwerp has already set a record in container handling this year, with already more than 9,000,000 TEUs handled. A total of 8% higher than the previous year.

The objective is to continue to develop. Current forecasts say that the port of Antwerp will need to develop a new container handling capacity from 2020-2021 . The new projects are already well advanced, new quays (left bank of the Scheldt ) and a further 1000 hectares development zone.
