Polish tomatoes too expensive for Russian market
Poland
Friday 03 July 2009
Although prices of Polish tomatoes were decreasing for last days, their current prices are too high so they can’t compete against tomatoes from other countries on the Russian market.
As a result, at the moment the export of Polish tomatoes to Russia is very low.
On last days, prices of tomatoes packed into 6 kg cartons were 16 – 17 PLN (3.52-3.74 euro)/carton and 17 – 18 PLN (3.74-3.96 euro)/carton for B and BB tomatoes respectively.
