Key Colombian Avocado Industry Conference to host Felix Instruments
Felix Instruments will showcase Avocado Quality Meter at Territorio Aguacate, an important conference of industry leaders, in Medellin, Colombia, December 2-3, 2021.
Based in Pacific Northwest, Felix Instruments is a one of the leading innovators in the fruit quality assessment sector, and Territorio Aguacate provides an opportunity for fruit growers and distributors to get acquainted with their improved F-751 Avocado Quality Meter.
At the conference, Felix Instruments will be hosting an AvoTalk, on Friday December 3, from 11am to 11:40am.
Eric Munoz, Application Scientist, Ivonne Chica, Customer Relationship Manager, and representatives from Felix distributor, Insak, will carry out a live demonstration of the Avocado Quality Meter.
Visitors will be able to try the Avocado Quality Meter in action and learn how to work the device seamlessly into their work processes. There will also be an update on improvements to the F-751 model, with an emphasis on accuracy, data management and technology.
The F-751 Avocado Quality Meter enables quick assessment of dry matter and fruit maturity. Utilized by Camposol, Mission Produce, and Del Monte, the device makes measurements effortless, rising testing consistency, and minimizes measurement time by 95 percent.
During the AvoTalk, attendees will discover how the highly adaptable quality meter utilizes near-infrared analysis to assess dry matter, a vital indicator of fruit ripeness and general quality.
Normally, dry matter assessment took days to perform, but the F-751 lowers that to a 12-second scan within the push of a button.
The Avocado Quality Meter provides cost savings in manpower and eliminates the need to destroy fruit. The device provides more data, while measuring more fruit quicker, helping fruit producers take their best decisions at harvest.
The F-751 comes with the opportunity to utilize Fruit Maps, a free interactive harvest map application, developed jointly by Felix Instruments and Central Queensland University.
