Damaged roads, broken bridges, flooded crops and heavy rains will reduce agricultural production.
Peru was hit by torrential rains that will affect agricultural production.
Several regions have been hit, especially the Andes and the border regions with Chile. Rivers have burst their banks causing landslides that have washed out roads and bridges. Heavy rains have caused the flooding of crops. The regions of Tacna,
Arequipa and Lambayeque, La Libertad and Ica have many acres flooded.
The APEAM, the association of mango growers, estimates that 10,000 to 15,000 metric tons of mangoes for export are lost, a figure that could double if the rains continue.
