Vegetable exports grew by ... 53%

Dramatic increase in exports of vegetables in Ukraine.

A responsible of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy announced that vegetable exports increased by 53% over the first five months of the year. In total, during this period, Ukraine has sent to foreign markets about 134000 tonnes of vegetables.

This success is due to the improvement of production and storage facilities. Last year, the exploitation of about 50 hectares of greenhouses equipped with new technologies has significantly increased production. By the end of the year, it is planned to install 40 additional acres of new greenhouses.

In addition to high yields obtained in greenhouses, construction from 2011-2012 of 104 storage warehouses helped to shelter in the best conditions around 400 000 tonnes of products.
