Almond exports increased in volume and value

Chlilean exports increased by 42% in volume and 34% in value (Photo: chilenut.cl).
During the period January-November 2019 Chilean exports of almonds recorded an increase of 34% in value compared to the same period of the previous year.
Odepa (Oficina de Estudios y Políticas Agrarias) reported that in the first 11 months of 2019, almond exports reached USD 71.1 million, an increase of 34% compared to the same period last year.
In volume, almond exports for this period January-November 2019 totaled 9,892 tonnes, an increase of 42%.
The main destination countries were Russia (36%), Brazil (20%), Argentina (11%), Ecuador (7%), Italy (5%), Peru (4%) , Germany (2%), Uruguay (2%) Turkey (2%).
