Trade mission will include market visits, business meetings and sector networking in India.
Brazilian fruit exporters will take part in a trade mission to India from May 24 to 31, 2026, as part of efforts to expand sales in Asia. The mission is organised through the Frutas do Brasil project, run by Abrafrutas in partnership with ApexBrasil.
The agenda will include visits, institutional meetings, business networking and participation in Fresh India Show 2026. Activities will take place in New Delhi and Mumbai, bringing Brazilian exporters into contact with importers, retailers, distributors and sector representatives in India.
According to Abrafrutas, India is becoming a more relevant market for Brazilian fruit exports as consumption of imported fruit grows. The country has imported about 68,100 tonnes of fruit from Brazil, worth around US$59.6 million, with apples listed as the main fruit shipped to the Indian market.
The Brazilian delegation is expected to visit Azadpur Subzi Mandi, one of Asia’s largest wholesale fruit and vegetable markets, as well as retail markets, premium fruit shops and specialised importing companies.
Meetings are also planned with the Federation of Indian Food Importers, the Brazilian Embassy in New Delhi and the Consulate-General in Mumbai.
