Afrucat distributes more than 1 million kilos of fruit

Afrucat has distributed more than 1 million kilos of fruit to 1275 schools for 296,000.
Under the Plan for Fruit Consumption at School, Afrucat has distributed more than 1 million kilos of fruit.
Afrucat, the association of commercialisation for Catalunya, has for the third consecutive year organised distribution of fruit in schools. The plan is to encourage the consumption of fruit in schools following a European initiative co-funded by the EU and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Afrucat distributed 1,065,600 kilos of fruits and vegetables in 1275 schools in Catalunya to 296,000 students aged 3 to 12 years. This year Afrucat began distributing cherry tomatoes and baby carrots, which were added to the mandarins, oranges, apples, pears, strawberries, cherries, apricots, peaches, nectarines, plums, grapes and kiwi.
