Japan has decided to allow the importation of Vietnamese lychees. The lychee is the 4th fresh fruit from Vietnam authorized on the Japanese market after the dragon fruit, mango and banana.
After more than 5 years of negotiations between the two countries, the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture has just authorized the import of Vietnamese lychees.
As Japan is one of the most demanding markets in the world, with the highest food safety and hygiene standards, the presence of fresh Vietnamese litchi in this market will help expand exports to other countries.
Vietnamese lychees are already exported to many countries such as China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand but also the United States, the European Union and Australia.
