In Switzerland, the cherry season has started and the forecasts for this 2022 harvest are excellent with a volume 25% higher than the average of the last 5 years.
FUS (Fruit-Union Switzerland) expects a good 2022 harvest with a volume exceeding 2,500 tonnes of excellent quality cherries. The 2022 harvest could thus exceed the average of the last five years by 25%.
The harvest has just started and the largest volumes are expected for weeks 26, 27 and 28.
In recent years the production of cherries in Switzerland has evolved significantly. With modern orchards and the proliferation of weather protection systems that protect crops and reduce the use of phytosanitary products.
