The Hypermart chain has excellent growth prospects in a country which has a huge growth of population and a domestic demand growing.
Matahari Putra Prima, the largest distributor of Indonesia, has marketed its unity Hypermart, 51 hypermarkets, the second largest chain of hypermarkets in the country.
Matahari has announced that global retailers are interested in investing as a majority shareholder and become a partner to develop activities of hypermarkets.
The South Korean Lotte Shopping, Wal-Mart (United States) and Casino (France) would be in the running.
Hypermart is targeting customers of middle to low income type which represents the largest segment in Indonesia. The country has a huge population growth and domestic demand is growing continuously.
