The Turkish dried figs are exported from October 2

While stocks of the previous year can be sold , dry fig 2015/2016 may not be exported in October. The date was decided by the General Assembly of the Union of Exporters of Dried Fruits of the Aegean Region and ratified by the Council of Exporters Turks.

The dried fig is a traditional export product of Turkey, during the previous season, from October 14, 2014 to August 31, 2015 , over 53 000 tonnes were exported , mainly to France , Germany and the United States . On the other hand , China, which was one of the markets targeted by the Dried Fruit Promotion Group , Turkey exported products worth some $ 5 million .For 2015/2016 harvest forecast is about 74 000 tonnes and if weather conditions are in the game , a good season is expected.
