Croatia, import-export ratio at 61.4%

A growing number of positive signals come from the agricultural sector in Croatia, which has always been considered one of the driving forces of the Croatian economy. In 2007 the export-import ratio in the agricultural sector reached 61.4%. The agricultural production increased from 11.2 billion Kuna (some 1.55 billion euro) in 2000 to 15.6 billion Kuna (some 2.16 billion euro) in 2006. A total 177,003 agricultural companies are currently registered in Croatia, 97% of which are family-owned business.
