Abundant harvest of durian in Malaysia

The very good durian harvested in Malaysia goes to glad consumers in Singapore who call it the " king of fruits ".

Singapore is the largest export market of Malaysia regarding fresh fruit and processed fruit . Purchases represent about USD 119 million a year, mainly for watermelons and durian.

The production of durian is very abundant this year in Malaysia. Consumers in Singapore , very fond of durian, predicting that demand could slow in Malaysia because of Ramadan and therefore , the surplus is reaching Singapore. If this hypothesis is realized prices could also decline.
