Production declined slightly for pears

The French pear production is estimated slightly down compared to 2013.

According to Agreste , the statistical service of the Ministry of Agriculture, pear production is expected to reach about 143 000 tonnes. A decrease of 4% compared to the 2013 production and 5 % over the 5-year average (2009-2013) .

The reported prices were lower by 11% than the average for 2009 to 2013 according to the ministry .
