Barendrecht-based BG Door Internationl is one of the leading suppliers of custom made solutions in ripening room interior components and gastight doors. At Fruit Logistica in Berlin the company introduced new custom-made gastight pass door for ripening rooms. The solid pass door was specially designed for one of their new customers in Australia. “The window is usually considered as emergency exit in ripening room, while Australian law states there should be a pass door. So we have developed new gastight pass door specially for this customer”, - explains Jan van Kessel, director at BG Door International.
The pass door is fully integrated into the sectional door, which makes it easy for quality control people and ripeners to enter.
Jan van Kessel shares that now doors are already installed and in operation. Customer is very satisfied with the doors. This integrated door matches Class 6 air permeability and meets the highest emergency exit safety regulations in the world. BG Door's gastight pass doors are available in standard several standard colors. “Projects like this prove how we at BG Door can meet customer’s requirements and develop custom-made solutions. Careful evaluation enables us to prepare an exclusive tailor-made design for each facility”, - says Mr. Van Kessel.
Also recently Fructidor has highlighted that BG Door is part of the huge project in Rungis for SIIM. New platform will be equipped with 42 double and single-tier ripening rooms for a global simultaneous capacity of 67 trucks - 1.608 pallets – 38.592 banana boxes, making it the largest ripening facility in France. Commenting this installation Jan van Kessel adds: “For more than 30 years BG Door International is one of the world's leading supplier of Airtight Doors, Ripening Room Interiors and Fruit Storage Equipment for a wide range of fruits, especially bananas and tropical fruits. We are specifically proud of our long-lasting relationship with SIIM and are extremely happy to be part of this ground-breaking project in France.” In April 2020 SIIM plans to start test ripening.
