In 2022, Peru exported close to 159,000 tons of organic bananas, showing an increase of 39% compared to the 114,000 tons shipped in 2021, reports the president of the consultancy Inform@cción Fernando Cillóniz Benavides.
He specified that in the first half of the year, shipments of Peruvian organic bananas registered an increase of 50% in volume, however, the dynamics could not be sustained.
In January, 12,970,595 kilos have been sent; in February 17,350,180 kilos; in March 16,330,866 kilos; in April 13,700,000 kilos; in May 13,956,336 kilos; in June 12,410,554 kilos; in July 12,270,639 kilos; in August 13,719,074 kilos; in September 12,445,290 kilos; in October 10,277,408 kilos; in November 10,426,340 kilos and in December 12,793,148 kilos.
The main destinations were the Netherlands, Panama, the United States, Belgium, South Korea, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, and other countries.
