Tesco, the largest retailer in the United Kingdom, has told suppliers it will begin requiring RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags on shipments beginning in 2006, according to a report in RFID Journal.
The company recently conducted live tests of EPC (Electronic Product Code) technology, tracking trays and cases moving from one of its distribution centres to two of its UK stores.
