Ahold sales fall in Q1

Dutch retailer Ahold has posted an 11.3 percent drop in its first quarter 2004 sales. Sales were down due to the weak dollar and the number of disposals made by the group during the year. Excluding currency differences and disposals, sales rose 1.3 percent. In the US, same store sales declined by 1 percent.
