Season for morel mushrooms

We are informed that morel mushrooms are currently trading for between 28 and 35 euros a kilo on the French market. The price differentiates according to the origin of the morels. This year, morels from Canada can be found on the French market. This is unusual and is due to higher production levels in Canada, whose morels are normally exported to the North American and Japanese markets. Canadian morels are trading at a lower price than morels from Turkey.
