Jumbo bought the 412 C1000 stores to become the second largest retailer in the Netherlands after Albert Heijn
The group bought the Jumbo has acquired the C1000 chain, becoming the second largest retailer in the Netherlands after Albert Heijn (Ahold).
Jumbo bought the 412 C1000 stores to bring its total number of outlets to 725. The transaction is valued at more than 900 million euros and is expected to close during the first quarter of 2012.
The two companies have combined annual revenues of EUR 7.5 billion and represent 23% market share in the Netherlands. They form the second largest group in distribution after Albert Heijn, which currently has 33% market share.
