"European Flavours" at PMA summit ( USA)

From October 24th to 27th, Fresh Summit 2008, the main North American event and one of the most important world’s meeting places for the fresh sector will take place in Orlando (USA).
 

 
The Fresh Summit 2008 is organized yearly by the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) and takes place this year at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando (north-eastern Florida). The event will welcome over 17,000 visitors from 70 Countries (according to recent years’ average) on around 640,000 sqm of exhibition floor; exhibitors will be almost 800 from 23 Countries worldwide.
 
European fruit and vegetables, guarantee of the best natural and organoleptic and nutritional features, will be introduced to the most important buyers, retailers and importers overseas.
 
In particular, Europe’s fruit and vegetables will be protagonist of a meeting organized on October, 26 at 7 p.m. at Orlando’s Peabody Hotel, which will be attended by key American operators, journalists and opinion leaders.
 
“European flavors” is a three-year project to promote the consumption of European fresh and processed fruit and vegetables in several non-EU markets (Russia, the US and Japan). The total investment is 4 million euros, financed by the EU (50%), the Italian ministry of Agriculture (30%) and associate companies to Italian CSO (Service Centre for fresh produce).
 
 
Oranges, pears, peaches and nectarines, kiwifruits and plums are some of the products which the promotion focuses on, chiefly “branded” with Protected Geographical Indication mark that certify their origin. CSO’s Italian associated companies exhibiting at PMA are Alegra, Naturitalia, Granfrutta Zani, Made in Blu, Orogel, KiwiGold Consortium and others.
