Estimate revised down for Florida oranges

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has revised down its forecast of orange production in Florida.
Production of Florida oranges has been revised downwards by the USDA, the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The USDA reduced its forecast for the orange crop by 2 million cases and the estimated production of Florida is now 145 million boxes for the 2011-12 season.
The decrease is for the Valencia variety
that will fall from 73 million to 71 million cases. Other estimates remain unchanged from those of March. The USDA makes ??an initial forecast in October and then revises it monthly until the end of the season in July. In 2010-11 Florida produced 139 million cases of oranges.
