Wal-Mart looks for European opportunities

Wal-Mart is seeking new markets to further boost its growth as sales in its home market declines.
 
According to British newspaper The Independent, Wal-Mart will establish a team in London to examine the European market and explore opportunities for takeovers.
 
Wal-mart possible return to continental Europe comes after the retailer bought German chain Wertkauf in the 1990s but sold in 2006.
 
International sales are critical for Wal-Mart with 11% increases registered last year compared to sales in the U.S. falling by 1.1%.
