Chiquita ends its banana production in Panama

Chiquita's banana production in Panama was not cost-efficient, so the group decided to end its operations there. Chiquita finally decided to only maintain its production on the Caribbean Coast, nearby Costa Rica. Nevertheless, banana remains Panama's main export crop.
