Chiquita has just opened a new centre for ripening of bananas which is CO2-neutral.
Located in Gorinchem, the Netherlands, the centre is part of a new site to distribute fruit and vegetables. The application of the latest technology has significantly reduced the amount of energy
needed for ripening and the centre is the first one of its kind to be CO2-neutral.
Located not far from the port, it can easily receive shipments of bananas and being near the A15 the new centre facilitates shipments. It will provide for southern Netherlands.
