EU increases demand for organic bananas

Demand in the European Union for organic bananas is increasing.

Producers and exporters of bananas found that the EU increased its orders for organic bananas 20% each year. European consumers pay for these fruits without chemicals up to 80% more than standard bananas.

However, production costs and maintenance of crops are high and require significant investments by local producers.
