Excellent trend in Turkey for fresh grape exports, which increased by 43% over the period from 1st June to 15th August. This positive trend should continue until the end of the season.
According to AEFVEA (Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association) data for the period from 1 June to 15 August, exports of fresh grapes reached 61 019 tonnes. This volume generated a turnover of 40.26 million USD, 43% better than the 28.13 million USD of the previous campaign over the same period.
As for destination markets, Russia is clearly ahead with 12 million USD, followed by Germany with 2.2 million USD and Ukraine with 2 million USD.
Turkey is the world's sixth largest producer of grapes (after China, Italy, the United States, Spain and France) and the world's fifth largest exporter (FAOSTAT, 2013).
