The country keeps fruit and vegetable production at the centre of national horticulture support programmes.
Indonesia is maintaining strong support for fruit and vegetable production through its national horticulture development programmes, with the sector remaining a key priority for farmer assistance and domestic supply, according to the Directorate General of Horticulture at the Ministry of Agriculture.
The ministry confirmed that horticulture, particularly fruit and vegetable cultivation, will continue to receive targeted backing through government initiatives designed to strengthen farm productivity, improve cultivation practices and support growers across production regions. The programme focuses on sustaining output, improving crop quality and helping farmers respond to market demand while ensuring stable supply for consumers.
Authorities highlighted that farmer support remains central to the strategy, with ongoing efforts to expand technical guidance, input assistance and development programmes for horticulture producers. The measures are intended to reinforce the role of fruit and vegetable farming in national food security and rural income generation.
The Directorate General of Horticulture noted that continued investment in the sector will also support long-term growth and resilience, particularly as production systems adapt to changing climate and market conditions.
