Brexit could bring new opportunities

Irish professionals believe that the future Brexit could bring new opportunities to the agricultural sector.

 

 

 

According to Irish Farmers Association, Irish producers will have the opportunity to generate new profits. Currently, some products imported into Ireland from other EU countries pass through England. Once the Brexit in place, these products could be blocked at borders and take 1 or 2 days extra delay, which is not an optimal solution for fresh produce.

 

 

 

Irish producers will thus be able to gain market share with products that are cooler than imported products. Specifically in the vegetable sector, especially carrots, cabbage, tomatoes and potatoes.
