Salix Fruits has a new Country Manager for South Africa
Salix Fruits, one of the leading fresh fruit import and export companies in the market, announced the incorporation of Shaun Swart as Country Manager for South Africa. He has experience in sourcing for retail at Spinneys Dubai, purchasing at Woolworths Holdings Limited and fresh food’s markets at Geant Saudi.
Shaun's duties as Country Manager for South Africa include planning growth and business development in the region, which is the main source territory for the company's project. In addition, he will be responsible for direction and administration of the entire commercial team, as well as the management of the strategy to strengthen the company's position in South Africa.
Alejandro Moralejo, CEO of Salix Fruits, said, "Shaun is the right professional to join our team at this moment. We are in the process of growing and market positioning in the region and this incorporation allows us to continue working towards our objective, which is to expand our market in South Africa."
Since 2014, the company has its own procurement office in South Africa, so it has witnessed a significant increase in plantations of lemons and tangerines in the territory and has contributed to the success of the South African citrus seasons in recent years.
Salix is a global import-export company of fresh fruit that has a wide portfolio of over 25 produce items, but focuses on apples, lemons, oranges, tangerines, pears and grapes. Based in Atlanta, the company also has offices in Philadelphia, Chicago, South Africa and Argentina.
