El Corte Ingles interested in Ahold stores

Spanish retailer El Corte Ingles is said to have made an offer to buy Ahold's Spanish operations for EUR480 million. Ahold operates 628 stores in Spain under different banners, including Superdiplo and Supersol. Ahold has said that it wants to sell of its Spanish stores by the end of the year.
