New Market and Logistics Hub 2 Planned for Châteaurenard
Building on the success of the first logistics hub launched in November 2024 in the Iscles Industrial Zone, the Châteaurenard MIN Authority is planning to create a second hub before 2030.
Opened just 18 months ago, the first logistics hub at the Châteaurenard MIN is already at full capacity, prompting the Market of National Interest to plan the construction of a second hub, in addition to the future wholesale market already planned for the same Iscles industrial zone. “The second hub will be identical to the first and located directly across from it,” says Jérémie Becciu, director of the MIN in Châteaurenard. The first hub comprises 13,500 m² of building space for the storage of dry, fresh, and frozen products, 1,300 m² of administrative and restroom facilities for drivers, 220 parking spaces for cars, and 140 for heavy-duty trucks.
21,000 m² of covered space for the future production complex at the Châteaurenard MIN
The future wholesale market is expected to cover 2.10 ha of buildings, feature 51 loading docks, and include 8,000 m² of individual cold storage rooms for the marketing, processing, and shipment of local products. “The future market will house 12 units for wholesalers, shippers, or cooperatives; 30 producer-shippers; and 160 producers who will be able to set up shop to sell directly to customers on the market floor, which is designed as a covered loading dock area spanning more than 10,000 m²,” reveals Mr. Becciu. It is also expected to include 3,000 m² of office space and an analysis laboratory, among other additional services.
