Peruvian mango exports are going well and industry professionals believe that the initial forecasts will materialize. This campaign could exceed the previous record.
Last November, at the start of the 2019/20 mango season, APEM (Asociación de Productores y Exportadores de Mango Peruano) estimated the volume of export volume at 217,000 tonnes.
From the start of this campaign until week 3 (January 19, 2020), Peru exported 90,000 tonnes of fresh mango. An increase of 9.75% compared to the 82,000 tonnes shipped on the same date last season.
According to the latest projections, shipments for this season could even exceed 217,000 tonnes. Exceeding the record established during the 2017/18 season with 204,000 tonnes.
The main destinations for Peruvian fresh mango are the Netherlands, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain and Chile.
