Pomegranate exports volume increased 84%

In the first two months of 2022, exports of fresh pomegranates by Peru reached 9.857.852 kilos, which reflects an increase of 84.1% compared to the 5.353.653 kilos exported in the same period of 2021, according to the president of the consultancy firm Inform@cción, Fernando Cillóniz Benavides. He specified that the peak of the season, which began in January and will continue until June, will fall in the months of March and April.

 

In January of the current year, Peru exported 2.330.739 kilos of pomegranate (1.074.247 kilos in January 2021); and  7.527.113 kilos in February (4.279.406 kilos in 2021). Until March 4 of this year, 3.556.214 kilos have been sent.
