Fairtrade products, from fair trade, have recorded a real boom in Italy
In 2012 Fairtrade products recorded a growth of +13.7% compared to the previous year. This sales growth is in total contrast with the general decline of the consumption in the country.
The most popular product remains banana, Fairtrade product the most sold. The dried fruits (walnuts, cashew nuts ...) increased by 12%, the biscuits and snacks (sweet and savory) progressed by 44%, the desserts and ice creams have more than doubled with +159% growth , the coffee +17%, the cocoa +65%.
