Good performance forecast for Ivory Coast banana exports

The FAO report predicts that Ivory Coast will export 340,000 tonnes of bananas in 2023, up 4.29% on 2022 (Photo: ecomnewsafrique.com).
According to the 'Banana Market Review Preliminary results 2023' published by the FAO, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, African banana exports could total 665,000 tonnes for 2023 as a whole, an increase of +1.37%.
The FAO report states that Ivory Coast is expected to export 340,000 tonnes of bananas in 2023, an increase of 4.29% compared to 2022 (326,000 tonnes). Cameroon is expected to export 192,000 tonnes of bananas in 2023, down 11.11% on 2022 (216,000 tonnes).
In terms of destination countries, the European Union remains the main outlet for bananas from Ivory Coast and Cameroon.
